About the Event

You are invited to sign up for the Print Day Workshop on Friday, November 12, 12pm-3pm. The workshop will take place in Heimbold 109 (Printshop). Materials will be provided.

Print Day is a workshop designed as a quick introduction to a variety of printmaking techniques that students can subsequently incorporate into their own individual studio practice. Open to all Visual Arts students, this workshop strives to bridge the variety of media that are being explored in the department. Over the period of four hours, visiting artist Susan Ziegler will be demonstrating a number of mono printing processes that students can experiment with. Print Day will serve as an introduction to the printshop for those who have not yet tried the medium, and provide access to students who took printmaking remotely to revisit their projects using the printing press.

About the Artists: Susan  Ziegler (b. 1974) is a Brooklyn-based visual artist. She explores the intersection of the natural world and urban experience through a practice that combines painting, printmaking, and collage. Her work is rooted in drawing from observation, searching for  essential abstract forms in response to fleeting sensations and chance encounters in the environment. The imagery in her recent work comes from direct observation of botanical, architectural, and landscape elements.
